2 cents worth.

After some deliberation, I have formed another piece in the jigsaw puzzle of my beliefs.

Sex is subjective.

On the issue of the religious point of view:

I don't think Sex is condemned in christianity or catholism. Basically, its because I don't believe it is explicitly stated in the bible ' thou shalt not have pre-marital sex'. It is only stated that one should not cheat on thy spouse or 'covert thy neighbour's spouse'. There have also been claims that the body is the temple of God as he created man by hand. However, as much as I agree to this, this argument is still flawed because if the body were to be something sacred, then everybody should not be having sex. It wouldn't really be a matter of premarital sex but, sex in general. So why is it acceptable to have sex after marriage despite your body still remaining a sacred symbol? Please don't tell me that its because it is for reproductive purposes because an average Singaporean couple has sex at least more than 2 times per week or at worst, once a fortnight. If it were for mere reproductive purposes, then wouldn't we all be having a monstrous households instead of this aging population problem we have now?

Also, as much as it is blesphemous, the bible isn't exactly 100% trustable to me. Why?

Because the bible is written by men from the past. It is the interpretation of another person's point of view, not a representation of a whole society nor the word of God himself, wherever he may be. Right now I probably must have at least every good christian on his feet and shouting ' BLESPHEMY!!!'. But hey, that's just my OWN point of view and before you judge on what basis is anything blesphemous, what exactly is blesphemous? And once again, it is defined by Man himself. Not God. So unless the big guy up there is going to come down and scream BLESPHEMY at me, I'm turning a deaf ear to any of my dear good fellow christians.

Based on the moral point of view:

Yes, virginity is a gift.
Yes, girls should treasure it as you can never take it back once its gone.

Losing one's virginity is damaging one's body in the sense that you're tearing a part of it up. It is a concept of self-value. If you love yourself enough, you would not injure yourself over something which is worth less than value.

However, having pre-marital sex does not make you a bad person. It does not change you are as a person. But the criminalizing of the person as of the action should differ.

No-strings attached sex (or the Oreo theory of lick, fuck and dump) - My thoughts have concluded that I cannot condone this. There is nothing to gain from this apart from short-term pleasure. And pleasure, is a basic human need but unecessary in this execution.

Consented pre-marital sex based on a relationship - It's simple: You risk it. If you love a person enough, there's nothing wrong in it because there is a cause and a purpose. To begin with, sex was the ultimate act of love. It has always been that way in all forms of literature dating back from the beginning of time. But of course, love can be delusive. It's very, very easy to be cheated in love. Therefore, it is not wrong but it's a very heavy gamble.

Ultimately, its just my 2 cents worth of thought. Don't flame me for my brain.
